My strat i worked for last round...

here is the email i sent to my pack to use as a guideline for last round, i didnt read it at all whilst playing tho by memory it was almost exactly the same as i predicted, with a few slowdowns here and there and the struggle at the end, when infact i started exploring about 5 days before the end...

"this has been a while in formation - hope it meets your requirements of a good
strat. As i say throughout, you may have to build on land you dont really want
to to save rezoning, i just took 10% off alchs and put it on GT for the 3k strat
and the difference was only slight, and might be worth the rezoning...get specs
out of the way as soon as possible, and only use for defense - obviously. If
you could all keep a log of what land types you grab, and surveys, it would be
good to get an idea of the builds people are using.(next is all copied so i
might repeat myself)

Here is the strat i have been working on, the principle thing i think you have
to bear in mind is that the difference between Barracks and Homes using #30%
mods is very slim, so, as an attacker you have the choice between the two land
types. If you get mountains then build barracks if you decide to attack a DE
;-) and get no mountains, build homes. I put in alchemies because of the raw
values being so low, this has proven to give a better op/hour income and a lower
rating (meaning better) on my automated rating scale. Masonries are basically
obsolete - and you always have the chance someone is using shrines or whatever
those mod cancelling buildings are called now...One problem is the fact that i
am using opa/dpa estimates, as the round progresses i will be able to re-do this
strat in line with more accurate estimates of dpa/opa.

1000acres - is hard to tell you what you are going to get, but aim for at least
14k def as rounds before - it might be lower, but people have been telling me
that it is possible to get a huge offense rush early on - tho which race i wasnt
told for obvious reasons ;-)
but here is a general strat for 1k acres:

Homes 60 6.0%
Farms 90 9.0%
Smithies 200 20.0%
Diamond Mines 200 20.0%
Alchemies 200 20.0%
Lumberyards 40 4.0%
Towers 60 6.0%
Barracks 150 15.0%

2k acres is a little easier to attain a good build on:

using: 40dpa/30opa as a guideline military...

Homes 60 3.0%
Farms 200 10.0%
Smithies 200 10.0%
Diamond Mines 400 20.0%
Alchemies 460 23.0%
Lumberyards 80 4.0%
Towers 120 6.0%
Barracks 500 25.0%

Homes are left over from protection, and smithies seem to be a help in
protection as well - they arent much of a burden later on in the round either -
i dont beleive there is a need for any sort of razing in this strat:

3k:
using: 50dpa/40opa

Homes 60 2.0%
Farms 270 9.0%
Smithies 210 7.0%
Diamond Mines 420 14.0%
Alchemies 600 20.0%
Lumberyards 120 4.0%
Towers 180 6.0%
Barracks 1140 38.0%

4k:
using 60dpa/50opa

here is where it gets interesting, i have no idea what the builds are going to
be for the various races, inevitably there will be a number of targets with
hills and other such so far unwanted land types, and at this late stage rezoning
is going to be d**n expensive. Here is basically what you should aim for but
building GT might be a good idea at this stage to grant a better efficiency
later on when building stops. As the traditional 20% GT for a spud implies the
4 def unit is very inefficient...

Homes 80 2.0%
Farms 360 9.0%
Smithies 200 5.0%
Diamond Mines 480 12.0%
Alchemies 880 22.0%
Lumberyards 160 4.0%
Towers 240 6.0%
Barracks 1600 40.0%

5k
using 65dpa/55opa

Homes 100 2.0%
Farms 450 9.0%
Smithies 200 4.0%
Diamond Mines 500 10.0%
Alchemies 900 18.0%
Lumberyards 200 4.0%
Towers 300 6.0%
Barracks 2350 47.0%

one thing to keep in mind is that barracks throughout - as long as you have
spare military, are more efficient than alchemies, what i have here gives it
almost to the point of having every troop in barracks to give room for more if
needed."

With that posted i am not going to justify anything or tell you any more about it or ammend it to the new round changes, as barracks arent that efficient now, and i certainly had more than 26.6% improvements by mid round...

so i leave it here as a guideline people might want to follow or discuss for prosperity etc.

iŽll be on here every so often to help out people who need it but at the moment i only have time to post this - as i was just cleaning out my hotmail account...

good luck for the round everyone and i wait to hear what impact those dragons have.

hasta luego,
